The organization who DOES approve eclipse glasses is the ISO (International Standards Organization), who has issued a standard called "ISO 12312-2:2015" (https://www.iso.org/standard/59289.html). This standard deals with the requirements for the filters which allow you to directly view the Sun safely. These filters are the lens material contained in your eclipse glasses.
All eclipse glasses must meet this standard, but unfortunately, people can print whatever they want on Eclipse Glasses!

We give you all the information you need to know. Remember that the certification lab has to ALSO be certified! So it's no fair making glasses that your cousin's "Certification lab" then certifies!
And, certified glasses have to say the name of the manufacturer on them. If the glasses you're using don't have a manufacturer name printed on them, then they by definiton already don't meet the standard. If the manufacturer won't print their name on the glasses, then what else are they ignoring in the standard? It's your EYES we're trying to protect - right?
